Jennifer Lopez
Considers Directing |
| |
Jennifer Lopez
has admitted
that she has
considered
trying out
directing.
The actress and
singer revealed
that her
Monster-In-Law
co-star Jane
Fonda even
encouraged her
to make the
career move.
"A lot of people
have been saying
that to me
lately and I
remember when
Jane said it on
the set," Lopez
told Australian
newspaper The
Sunday Mail.
"I won't say I
haven't thought
about it,
because I have,
but I just don't
know. I always
thought that
directing took
up so much of
your life and I
don't know if I
could do it
because of that.
"I would have to
feel passionate
about it. We'll
see if a project
comes along that
makes me feel
that way."
Speaking about
the time that
she spent with
Fonda, Jennifer
added, "We did
get along and I
found her
fascinating.
"Obviously I was
very excited to
know that Jane
was even
interested in
doing the movie
and it was even
more exciting to
know that after
15 years [in
retirement] she
would choose to
do it with me.
It was a real
honour."
One of the
original Willy
Wonka stars has
praised Tim
Burton's remake
of the movie.
Julia Dawn Cole,
who played
spoilt brat
Veruca Salt in
the 1971
version, thinks
that Roald Dahl
would have
enjoyed the
adaptation of
his Charlie and
the Chocolate
Factory story.
"I think it's as
good as the
original and my
son Barney says
it's better,"
Cole is quoted
by
Femalefirst.co.uk
as saying.
"Roald Dahl
didn't like our
film but I'm
convinced he
would have loved
this version. It
picks up on all
of the darker
elements of his
story, which
kids love.
"I wouldn't say
it is better
than the
original as that
will always be
special to me."
Lions Gate Films
has singed a
multi-picture
film deal with
LL Cool J - real
name James Todd
Smith - in the
hope it will
draw more female
film-goers.
The rapper's
first film is
set to be an
urban remake of
Fatal
Attraction.
Lions Gate's
President of
Production,
Michael
Paseornek, told
the Hollywood
Reporter: "What
we are looking
to do with LL is
to get
high-quality
material that
will attract
talent. We are
not looking to
develop gimmicks
but make real
movies. LL has a
huge following
and is very
credible with
women."
In a statement,
LL Cool J - his
acronym for
Ladies Love Cool
James - said:
"This is the
perfect
transition for
me as I can now
pour all my
energy and
creative juices
into this fresh
and exciting
producing
venture."
