Driver Star In Films About Killings  |

CIUDAD JUAREZ,
Mexico The
killing of
hundreds of
women in Ciudad
Juarez, Mexico,
has become the
focus of
Hollywood films.
Jennifer Lopez,
Antonio Banderas
and Minnie
Driver are
starring in
upcoming movies
about the
slayings over
the past decade
in Juarez,
across the
border from El
Paso, Texas.
But relatives of
some victims
worry the films
will hurt the
already tattered
image of Juarez
-- and do little
to pressure
authorities to
solve the
crimes.
"Bordertown,"
with Lopez and
Banderas, began
production last
month in New
Mexico.
Lopez plays a
Chicago-based
reporter sent to
Mexico to
investigate the
killings.
Banderas also
plays a U-S
reporter.
"The Virgin of
Juarez" stars
Driver, who
plays a Los
Angeles-based
reporter sent to
investigate the
killings.
The film was
completed last
year but has yet
to be released.
